Welcome to DTU's Live AudioCast Active Traders' Seminar

Time: 2 hrs
Start: 12 Noon EST
End: 2pm EST

Learning Points:

1) Choppy markets require patience and skilled tape-reading w/chart pattern recognition to trade correctly. Tools like the sector percent change from open, NASDAQ Composite 2-day chart and wide/clean charts from previous days' trading are important.

2) Tape reading: the main point is you need to already be familiar with "trading consolidation" vs "breakout tapes" for a handful of your favorite stocks, before the opening bell, each day.

3) Chart patterns: usual favorites like bullish/bearish engulfing 1-minute candles w/volume are favorites. Also use 3-line breaks and previous day's OHLC/ intrarange support resistance to help nail entry triggers.

4) Avoiding false breakouts, bull/bear traps. Contrary to popular opinion, there's not "mm's out to get you", it's simply a function of market volatility. Learning how to recognize and then trade high-volatility vs sitting out low-volatility times requires a skilled use of volume patterns to detect strong vs chop breakout moves.

5) Timing is essential, understanding how to trade within 20-minute timeframes, and using previous day's High/Low in the COMPQ to time entries and exit into resistance/support regions in the chart.
